The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has announced that its nationwide strike remains in force despite progress made in discussions with the Chief Justice and Management of the Judicial Service.
In a statement issued on Monday, November 2, 2026, JUSAG said its leadership and that of the Senior Staff Association of the Judicial Service of Ghana (SSAJUG) had held a crucial meeting with the Chief Justice and Management of the Judicial Service to find a resolution to the ongoing industrial impasse.
According to the association, the meeting was productive, with Management expressing its commitment to working with the government to address the demands of JUSAG and bring the strike to an end.
The association also disclosed that it had sighted a revised letter from the Ministry of Finance concerning the payment of allowances.
JUSAG further indicated that Management had tabled the outstanding issues before the Office of the President for expedited resolution.
While commending the Chief Justice and Management for their interventions, the association said it was awaiting the outcome of the engagements to enable its National Executive Council (NEC) to determine the next course of action.
However, JUSAG stressed that the positive developments should not be interpreted as an end to the industrial action.
“THE STRIKE IS STILL ON,” the statement emphasised.
The association explained that it would only communicate a change in the status of the strike after receiving a revised and improved government approval that satisfactorily addresses its demands.
The statement was signed by Abdulai Yakubu, General Secretary of JUSAG.
