The Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana has installed Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I, son of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, as the new leader of the mission.
The announcement was made through the mission’s official Facebook page on Sunday, June 21, 2026, in a congratulatory message accompanied by a video celebrating his assumption of the new role.
The mission described the installation as a “significant milestone” and offered prayers for wisdom, strength and divine guidance as Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I takes on the responsibility of leading the organisation.
It added that the legacy of its founder, Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, would continue to inspire the mission and guide its growth for generations to come.
The development follows reports of a court injunction seeking to stop the installation process. There have also been reports of a shooting incident involving former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, whose vehicle was allegedly attacked near the residence of her younger brother, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena.
Authorities are yet to provide further details on the reported incident, while the mission’s installation of its new leader marks a significant transition in its leadership.
