The chiefs, Oulama, and opinion leaders from the Zongo community in the Manhyia South Constituency  of the Ashanti Region have honoured Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for his dedicated service as their Member of Parliament.

During a community engagement with tribal chiefs at the Moshie chief’s palace in Alabar, Kumasi, Dr. Opoku Prempeh, affectionately known as Napo, reflected on the essence of political service, emphasizing the need to serve with commitment and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

The tribal chiefs lauded his leadership, describing it as transformative and impactful.

The Kumasi Moshie Chief, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdul Rahman Adam Sanfo III, presented a citation to Dr. Opoku Prempeh, expressing gratitude for his unwavering support to the Muslim community.

This includes facilitating pilgrimages to Hajj, supporting children’s education, and initiating numerous development projects in the Zongo community.

Speaking on behalf of the chiefs, Chief Haruna, the youth leader of the Zongo community, praised Dr. Opoku Prempeh for his contributions to the holistic development of Manhyia South and the Zongo community.

In his response, Dr. Opoku Prempeh expressed deep gratitude for the recognition, stating, “This honour strengthens my resolve to serve even more because this is my calling.”

He reiterated that the NPP is a truly national party committed to religious harmony, as demonstrated by its inclusive leadership and presidential ticket.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh commended the Zongo community for their resolve to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP in the upcoming elections, citing their commitment to inclusivity and religious tolerance as a source of inspiration.

Engagement with PROTOA and Kejetia Market Tour

As part of his activities, Dr. Opoku Prempeh met with the leadership of the Progressive Transport Owners Association (PROTOA) in Kumasi, where he expressed appreciation for their support over the years.

He also toured the bustling Kejetia Market, where he engaged with traders and supporters, witnessing the enthusiasm of residents for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh expressed confidence in Asanteman’s determination to protect and consolidate Ghana’s gains, urging voters to select the first name on the ballot, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the December 7 elections.
