New classroom facilities have been commissioned at the Asokore Mampong R/C and Aboabo Middle B schools as part of efforts to improve educational infrastructure and create better learning environments for pupils in the Asawase area.
The facilities were commissioned during a ceremony attended by the Member of Parliament for the Asawase Constituency Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed, Municipal Chief Executives (MCEs) for Asokore Mampong and Old Tafo, Ben Abdallah Alhassan and Abubakar Sadique, respectively, alongside education officials, traditional leaders and religious authorities.
The commissioning forms part of ongoing efforts to address infrastructure needs in schools and provide pupils with facilities that support effective teaching and learning.
Speaking at the event, the government representative said improving educational infrastructure remained a key priority, stressing the need to provide children with suitable environments in which to learn and develop.
Municipal Teachers’ Awards planned
As part of efforts to motivate teachers and recognise their contribution to education, plans were also announced for the establishment of an annual Municipal Teachers’ Awards Scheme.
The scheme is expected to recognise teachers who demonstrate excellence and commitment in their work while encouraging higher standards of teaching across schools in the municipality.
The initiative is also intended to acknowledge the efforts of teachers who continue to work under challenging conditions to support the academic and personal development of their pupils.
Call for pupils to stay focused
The pupils were encouraged to take their education seriously, remain disciplined and avoid activities that could undermine their future, particularly drug use.
They were urged to remain focused on their studies and make responsible choices as they pursue their educational goals.
The government representative reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to investing in education, describing it as an important pathway to creating opportunities and securing a better future for Ghana’s children.
The commissioning of the facilities and the proposed teachers’ awards scheme are expected to contribute to efforts to strengthen education delivery and improve outcomes for learners across Asawase.
