Ernest Brogya Genfi, Presidential Advisor on the National Resilience and Emergency Preparedness (NAREP), has announced plans for a comprehensive assessment of Ghana’s resilience and emergency preparedness architecture.
The initiative, he said, is in line with a directive from President John Dramani Mahama and is expected to culminate in a strategic and actionable implementation plan to strengthen the country’s capacity to prepare for and respond to emergencies and disasters.

Brogya Genfi made the announcement in a Facebook post following his participation in a High-Level Symposium held to mark the International Day for Disaster Reduction and Resilience, organised by the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).
He reiterated the government’s commitment to building a resilient and emergency-ready Ghana, stressing the importance of strengthening the country’s disaster preparedness systems.

The planned assessment is expected to provide a basis for evaluating the nation’s existing resilience and emergency response structures and identifying measures to improve preparedness and response capabilities.
Brogya Genfi also expressed appreciation to the Deputy Minister for the Interior, Terlabi Okletey, the Resident Head of the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD), and the leadership and staff of NADMO for organising the symposium.
He commended the stakeholders for their continued commitment to promoting public safety and building a more resilient Ghana.
The announcement underscores the government’s stated intention to strengthen national disaster preparedness and emergency response mechanisms through a coordinated assessment and an actionable implementation framework.
