The National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, conduct the balloting for positions of those seeking to be elected as national officers of the party.
It follows the successful completion of the vetting process, in which all 47 aspirants were cleared to contest across nine categories of national officer positions.
A statement, signed by the Chairman of NOEC, Frederick Opare-Ansah, said specific times for the balloting for the respective positions will be communicated directly to the aspirants.
It, therefore, urged all aspirants and their representatives to cooperate fully with the committee to ensure an orderly and transparent balloting process.
Positions
The cleared aspirants comprise four candidates for National Chairman, 13 for National Vice-Chairperson, four for General Secretary and four for National Treasurer.
Eight aspirants were cleared for National Organiser, while six were cleared for National Youth Organiser.
Two aspirants were cleared for National Women’s Organiser, five for National Nasara (Zongo) Organiser and one for National Communications Director. The national executive elections are scheduled for October 3, 2026.
Four aspirants, Paul Afoko, John Boadu, Boakye Agyarko and Sammy Crabbe will vie for the national chairman position, while for the General Secretary position, Eugene Boakye Antwi, Sylvester Tetteh and Charles Dwamena will contest the incumbent Justin Kodua Frimpong, who is seeking a second term.
Diligence
The statement expressed appreciation to the chairperson and members of the national officers election vetting committee for the diligence, professionalism and commitment with which they discharged their responsibility.
“NOEC remains committed to conducting the remaining stages of the election process in a manner that is fair, transparent, orderly and credible, and calls on all aspirants, their supporters and party members to continue to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the unity and integrity of the New Patriotic Party,” it stated.
It gave the assurance that further information on subsequent stages of the electoral process would be communicated in due course.
