Former President John Dramani Mahama has described the Airbus allegation leveled against him by his political opponent the New Patriotic Party (NPP) eight (8) years ago as baseless.
Reacting to the issue first time after the office of the special prosecutor cleared him of no wrong doing after concluding its investigation said, the outcome of the report didn’t surprise him because he know he was going to be vindicated.
He said “I have been out office for the past 8-years, no allegation of corruption leveled against me has been successfully prosecuted including the baseless Airbus brouhaha this government intended to put on me today once again I stand vindicated’’.
He further said” the report has reaffirms my integrity and incorruptible nature which my opponents sorted to tarnished without any basis ’’.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flag bearer was speaking at the 10th Anniversary Commemorative Lecture of the late Dr. P.V. Obeng at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
