The Northern Regional Coordinating Council (NRCC), under the leadership of the Northern Regional Minister, Ali Adolf John, has announced plans to replicate the President’s “Resetting Agenda” tour and public durbar engagements across the various districts in the Northern Region, beginning today, Thursday, May 7, 2026.
The initiative forms part of efforts by the Regional Coordinating Council to deepen government’s engagement with citizens at the grassroots level, promote transparency in governance, and provide a platform for direct interaction between government officials and the people.
The district-level tours and durbars are expected to bring together Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), traditional authorities, youth groups, women associations, opinion leaders, civil society organizations, security agencies, and members of the public to deliberate on development priorities and assess the impact of government interventions in their respective areas.
According to the NRCC, the exercise is intended to mirror the President’s national accountability and engagement agenda by ensuring that residents in every district are adequately informed about government policies, ongoing projects, achievements, and future development plans.
Speaking ahead of the commencement of the tour, the Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Ali Adolf John, emphasized that the initiative demonstrates government’s commitment to participatory governance and inclusive development.
He noted that the “Resetting Agenda” is not merely a slogan, but a practical governance approach aimed at rebuilding public confidence, strengthening local governance structures, and accelerating socio-economic transformation across the region.
Hon. Ali Adolf John further indicated that the district durbars will offer citizens the opportunity to openly express their concerns, share ideas, and make recommendations that will contribute to effective policy implementation and improved service delivery.
He stressed that the Regional Coordinating Council remains committed to ensuring that development reaches every corner of the Northern Region through collaboration, accountability, and community participation.
The Regional Minister also urged residents to actively participate in the engagements and support government’s development agenda to foster unity, peace, and progress within their respective districts.
The tours are expected to cover all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the Northern Region and will feature stakeholder interactions, inspections of ongoing government projects, and community durbars aimed at strengthening the relationship between government and the people.
Observers believe the initiative will enhance public trust, improve citizen-government relations, and create a stronger platform for addressing developmental challenges confronting communities across the region.
