Osei Richmond, a hopeful for the Ashanti Regional Organizer position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has extended goodwill messages to candidates contesting the party’s constituency executive elections across the Ashanti Region, urging delegates to elect competent and dedicated leaders capable of improving the party’s electoral fortunes in 2028.
In a goodwill message to candidates contesting in the party’s 47 constituencies in the region, Osei Richmond commended them for their willingness to serve the NDC and contribute to strengthening its grassroots structures. https://kumasimail.com/osei-richmond-cleared-to-contest-ndc-ashanti-regional-organiser-position-pick-number-4-on-ballot/
He said the constituency elections offered an important opportunity for delegates to elect visionary, hardworking and committed executives who could unite party members, mobilise supporters and expand the NDC’s electoral base in the Ashanti Region.
He reminded delegates that their choices would be critical to the party’s ambition of increasing its parliamentary representation in the region from the current seven seats to at least 10 in the 2028 general elections.
He also urged delegates to consider candidates with the capacity to help the NDC secure more than 35 per cent of presidential votes in the Ashanti Region, traditionally regarded as the electoral stronghold of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). https://kumasimail.com/36-ashanti-ndc-constituency-organizers-back-osei-richmond-for-regional-organizer/
According to him, achieving these targets would require constituency executives with the competence, commitment, experience and strategic vision to organise effectively at the grassroots and attract more voters to the NDC.
He stressed that the party needed leaders who understood the concerns of constituents, could work closely with polling station executives and had the ability to build strong relationships with communities to improve the NDC’s electoral performance.
Young Miner further appealed to all candidates to conduct themselves with maturity, respect and decorum throughout the electoral process, emphasising that the party’s collective interest must take precedence over personal ambitions. https://kumasimail.com/osei-richard-picks-forms-to-contest-ndc-ashanti-regional-organiser-position/
He said the elections should not be allowed to create divisions within the party but should rather serve as an opportunity to strengthen internal democracy, deepen unity and build a formidable organisation ahead of the 2028 polls.
He urged successful candidates to lead with humility and inclusiveness, while encouraging those who do not emerge victorious to remain committed to the party and support the elected executives in achieving their shared objectives.
“Although we may be contesting for different positions, we share one common objective: building a stronger NDC capable of winning more seats in the Ashanti Region and retaining power nationally,” he said in the goodwill message.
Mr. Osei expressed optimism that the elections would produce dedicated and forward-looking constituency executives capable of inspiring confidence among party members and leading effective campaigns across the region.
He reiterated that the task of making significant electoral gains in the Ashanti Region required unity, discipline, strategic planning and sustained grassroots mobilisation rather than relying solely on campaign activities during election periods.
He therefore encouraged delegates to make their decisions based on the ability of candidates to deliver results, strengthen constituency structures and help the party achieve its targets of at least 10 parliamentary seats and more than 35 per cent of presidential votes in the region in 2028.
Mr. Osei concluded by wishing all candidates success in the constituency executive elections and urging party members to remain united and focused on building a stronger NDC capable of making significant gains in the Ashanti Region.
