Member of Parliament for Suame Constituency, Lawyer John Darko, has called for the resignation of the Minister for Energy and Green Transitions, John Abdulai Jinapor, over the ongoing power outages, popularly known as “dumsor,” affecting parts of the country.

Speaking in an interview with Kojo Marfo on DayBreak on Fakye TV on Wednesday, the legislator questioned the Minister’s ability to effectively manage the energy sector amid the persistent disruptions.
When asked by the host whether he was calling for the Minister to be sacked or to resign, Mr. Darko suggested that stepping down voluntarily would be the more dignified option.
“He’s a brother, and if he resigns, it will help him. If he is sacked, it suggests he did not perform well, and that can be quite harsh,” he stated.
Mr. Darko further argued that the Minister should consider stepping aside if he is unable to address the challenges within the sector.
“He has the option to step aside to save himself because if he is unable to manage the sector entrusted to him, then what is he doing in office?” he questioned.
The call comes amid growing public concern over the resurgence of power outages, which have disrupted businesses and daily life across the country.
