The Savannah Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana, popularly known as Prof. Kalamonia, has called for reconciliation and unity within the party, admitting that internal divisions could undermine efforts to recover from its electoral setbacks in the region.
He said the party must put aside personal differences, rebuild trust among its members and embrace collective responsibility if it hopes to regain lost political ground.
Speaking at the commissioning of the party’s new regional office complex in Damongo, Alhaji Sulemana recalled that the NPP previously held three of the Savannah Region’s seven parliamentary seats but was reduced to just one following the 2024 general elections.
He described the electoral outcome as a major setback, stressing that reversing the decline would require more than individual ambitions and political rhetoric.
According to him, reconciliation and a renewed sense of common purpose must become the foundation of the party’s rebuilding efforts.

The Regional Chairman also acknowledged the contributions of the Damongo MP, Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor, and other party stakeholders towards strengthening the NPP and supporting deserving members to secure appointments.
He cited the recommendation that facilitated the appointment of former Savannah Regional Secretary, Hon. Issah Mohammed, as Deputy National Communications Director of the NPP as an example of efforts to support party members.
Alhaji Sulemana further recounted the challenges the party faced in acquiring land for the construction of its regional office, commending Abu Jinapor for his role in the process and Prof. Sulemana Adams Achanso for donating land towards the project.
He described the new facility as an important investment in the party’s organisational development and urged members to demonstrate the same spirit of cooperation and commitment in rebuilding the NPP’s political fortunes across the region.
