The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, Osman Abdulai Ayariga, has compared the economic leadership of Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson and former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Speaking live on GHone TV monitored by Kumasimail.com, Ayariga said that what Dr. Bawumia and his team could not do in eight years, Ato Forson has achieved in just five months.
He described Dr. Bawumia as a “con artist” who is trying to fool both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the people of Ghana.
Ayariga said: “Bawumia should be apologizing to us for his inability to even manage a currency. Instead, he should be congratulating people like Ato Forson.”
He recalled that Dr. Bawumia led a team of seven top economists, including Professor John Baffour and Akoto Osei, but failed to deliver results.
“What that seven-member committee headed by Dr. Bawumia couldn’t do, one man Ato Forson has done it in five months,” he said.
Ayariga continued, “What Bawumia and his seven-member economic management team couldn’t do, Ato Forson has done within five or six months. So, Bawumia should be apologizing to Ghana and congratulating people like Ato Forson.”
He also said that Dr. Bawumia should apologize to Ghanaians and congratulate former President John Dramani Mahama for his leadership.
“That is what he should be doing. Only then can we understand the sincerity of his apology,” Ayariga added.
Ayariga warned that Dr. Bawumia’s current actions are dishonest.
“If he’s still trying to deceive NPP members, I think NPP members are wide awake. They should know that what Bawumia is doing is just theatrics and dishonesty”
“I’ll repeat the theatrics and dishonesty are all signs of someone trying to be a con artist. If I say he’s a con artist, it’s because he’s trying to deceive the NPP and Ghanaians into thinking he’s a changed man. For that matter, his apology is dishonest,” he stated.
