The West African Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo) has successfully completed a critical pipeline maintenance project, resuming gas transportation services in Ghana, Togo, and Benin.
The maintenance work, which lasted four weeks, included offshore pipeline cleaning, inspection, and subsea valve replacements across multiple locations in Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Nigeria.
The project required temporarily shutting down pipeline laterals into Cotonou (Benin), Lomé (Togo), and Tema (Ghana). Despite the challenges, WAPCo completed the work ahead of schedule, ensuring efficiency and safety.
WAPCo’s Managing Director, Michelle Burkett, commended the team’s efforts.
“This was a complex project, and your hard work, even in the face of challenges, made it a success,” she said. “The results speak for themselves, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved.”
The company expressed gratitude to the governments of Benin, Ghana, Nigeria, and Togo, as well as regulatory authorities, customers, and other stakeholders, for their collaboration and support.
