President John Dramani Mahama has pledged to complete several high-profile projects that have been stalled for years in the Ashanti Region.
At the forefront of these commitments is the Sewua Hospital, which the President has vowed to bring to fruition by the end of this year.
Speaking during a fellowship with clergy at the prestigious Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Mahama emphasized his administration’s resolve to tackle the region’s pressing infrastructure needs.

He assured the monarch of the Ashanti Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu Ababio II, that the Sewua project will come to fruition by the end of the year.
He said “I have assure Otumfuo that we will complete the Sewua Hospital this year”.
He added that completing the hospital is necessary “the completion will allow us to decongest Komfo Anokye Hospital, so that important rehabilitation works to continue there”.
In addition to the Sewua Hospital, Mahama has also engaged with Euroget de Invest, the contractors overseeing the Afari Military Hospital project. He has secured assurances from the company that work will resume in earnest, paving the way for the speedy completion of this vital facility.
“I have spoken to the manager of Euroget the Invest who are the contractors and they assured me that they resume work in earnest at the Afari military hospital ensure the speedy completion of that facility”.
The President addressed the challenges facing other key projects in the region, including the Suame Interchange and various road works.
However, Prez Mahama noted that his administration is now actively exploring funding options to accelerate these projects.
“Other projects such as the Suame interchange and other road works were commenced without dedicated funding but we’ve to look for sources, and we are looking for sources of funding to speed up the work on these projects so that we can ease the congestion and inconvenience that the residents of Kumasi face.”
