Former Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Freda Prempeh, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Ghanaian women as the world marks International Women’s Day 2025.

She commended their unwavering contributions to national development, family life, and the economy, especially at the local market level.

The former minister, who also served as Member of Parliament for Tano South, took the opportunity to celebrate the hard work of Queen Mothers in Duayaw Nkwanta and surrounding communities, acknowledging their role in leadership, culture, and societal growth.

She also recognized the efforts of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Women Organizers across the country and praised the Ahafo Regional Minister who is poised to championing women’s progress in governance.

In her message, she called on men to honor and appreciate the women in their lives, including wives, mothers, and female colleagues at workplaces.

She emphasized that women are champions whose contributions should be celebrated not just on March 8 but every single day for their role in building a stronger nation.

“Women are at the heart of Ghana’s progress. From our homes to our workplaces, markets, farms, and leadership positions, we continue to make a difference. I urge all women to remain strong, focused, and resilient in their respective fields. Our contributions matter, and together, we will continue to shape Ghana’s future,” she stated.

As Ghana joins the world in celebrating International Women’s Day, Hon. Prempeh encouraged women to keep pushing boundaries, breaking barriers, and striving for excellence in all aspects of life.
