The National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha has condemned the management of Peace FM for allegedly yielding to demands from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Forcing Kwame Safa Kayi to apologize on live radio to the party for no wrongdoing.
“We know the demand the NDC made that compelled the management of Peace FM to make Chairman General apologize to the NDC. I listened to him on Peace FM rendering the apology, but six months after the public apology, Chairman General is still at home. What’s going on?” he questioned.
He explained, “I didn’t come here this morning to do Sefa Kayi’s bidding because I have not discussed this issue with Nana Yaw Kese or Chairman General. But what I’m saying is that, Prof., let it be on record that I spoke when injustice was being done against Kwame Sefa Kayi I spoke against it.”
He questioned why Peace FM could treat a broadcasting legend this way. “Nana, what they are doing to Chairman General could happen to you in the future. I will always rise against injustice, even if God will take my life I will,” he swore.
He added, “I would like to use this opportunity to appeal to Father Dickson and the Managing Director of Peace FM, Kennedy Osei. This is not right. That is not how to manage a station. The demand the NDC made is unacceptable and must not result in sacrificing Sefa Kayi for the NDC’s interest. The NDC cannot dictate how the station should be run.”
He asked, “Nana Yaw Kese, if the NPP also decides not to appear on Peace FM again, what will you do? Sefa and Prof. Agyekum have been correcting us when we go wrong, and that’s what he did to Sammy Gyamfi.”
He concluded, “I think it’s time I take this issue to the General Secretary of the NPP and the leadership of the party. Next week at our Council and NEC meeting, I think I have to raise this issue so that we stop appearing on Peace FM for Asiedu Nketia and Sammy Gyamfi to run the station.”
