Mankranso Senior High School (SHS) has made history by qualifying for the semifinals of the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) for the first time, after delivering a stunning performance against Ghana National College and St. Thomas Aquinas SHS.
The Ashanti Region-based school, located in the Ahafo Ano South-West District, pulled off one of the biggest surprises of this year’s competition, earning praise from students, teachers, and alumni across the region.
Represented by Augustine Manu Neyare, Eric Owusu Kevin, and Abigail Owusu, Mankranso SHS demonstrated outstanding teamwork, precision, and composure throughout the contest.
Their victory has sparked widespread celebration in Asanteman, with many describing their achievement as an inspiration for emerging schools across the country.
The school’s impressive performance saw them edge out traditional powerhouses Ghana National College and St. Thomas Aquinas SHS, both of which have strong track records in the NSMQ. Their success story has been hailed as a testament to determination, discipline, and academic excellence.
Mankranso SHS, established in 1973, has steadily improved in national academic competitions over the years. This year’s NSMQ run marks a new chapter in the school’s history, as they prepare to face tough opponents in the upcoming semifinal stage.
