NPP flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has emphasised the importance of humility and acceptance as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) prepares to elect its flagbearer ahead of the 2028 general elections. On the second and final day of his Greater Accra Regional campaign, Dr. Acheampong met party delegates in the Obom, Amasaman, and Trobu constituencies, urging them to choose a candidate capable of uniting the party and steering it to electoral success.
Addressing the delegates, he stressed that all aspirants must be willing to accept the outcome of the internal contest and support the eventual winner.
“What God wills is what will happen. About three weeks ago, a fellow contender, Kennedy Agyapong, was on a TV station and was asked that if he loses, would he support the candidate who won, and he said he was not going to provide an answer to that. I was taken aback,” Dr. Acheampong said.
He added that participating in a contest requires faith in the process and in God’s plan. “This is a contest, so you just go with whatever you get. Because when you lose, it could be that God willed it for you. He may be saving you from what is ahead of you. You even have to thank Him for that,” he stated.
Dr. Acheampong’s remarks come amid calls within the NPP for unity and discipline, as the party seeks to consolidate its base and present a cohesive front ahead of the 2028 elections.
