Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, H.E. Benjamin Anane Quashie, together with staff of the Ghana High Commission in Pretoria, has received the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, upon his arrival in South Africa.

The Asantehene arrived at the Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg on February 4, 2026, where he was warmly welcomed by the High Commissioner and officials of the mission.

In line with Ghanaian tradition and hospitality, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II was later conveyed to the official residence for a brief engagement with the High Commissioner and members of staff of the Ghana High Commission.

The visit highlights the intersection of Ghana’s revered traditional authority and diplomatic engagement, underscoring the role of cultural heritage in strengthening international relations.

Officials say the Asantehene’s presence in South Africa further reinforces the longstanding cultural and people-to-people ties between Ghana and South Africa.
