A microlight aircraft crashed in Tema on Monday, March 16, 2026, the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has confirmed.
In a press release issued in Accra, the aviation regulator said the aircraft, with registration number 9G-ADV, was travelling from Ho to Accra when the incident occurred.
According to the GCAA, the aircraft was expected to arrive in Accra at 1520 Z, but the last radio contact with it was recorded at 1418 Z.
The authority said two persons were on board at the time of the crash.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear, and the aviation regulator indicated that further details will be provided in due course.
The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, established in 1986, is responsible for regulating air transport in Ghana and providing air navigation services within the Accra Flight Information Region. It also licenses air transport operations and oversees the regulation of aerodromes across the country.
