The Minister for the Interior, Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed, has called on Muslims across Ghana to uphold unity and adhere to the core principles of Islam that promote peace, tolerance, and mutual respect.
This appeal was made following a courtesy visit by a delegation of leaders from the Ahlus-Sunnah Wal Jama’ah Muslim community at the Minister’s office in Accra.
The delegation was led by the Deputy National Chief Imam, Sheikh Kamil Mohammed, and was in the capital to extend goodwill and best wishes ahead of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.

According to the Minister, Islam remains a religion of peace that encourages constructive dialogue and harmony within communities. He emphasized the need for Muslims to be guided by the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.), particularly in fostering understanding and unity.
“I urge all Muslims to remain steadfast in the true teachings of Islam, which promote peaceful coexistence and mutual respect,” he stated.
Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed also conveyed his Eid Mubarak wishes to the Muslim community and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to maintaining peace, security, and stability across the country.

The visiting delegation expressed appreciation for the warm reception and commended the Ministry for its ongoing efforts in addressing national security concerns. They further pledged their continued support toward national development.
The Minister, in response, expressed gratitude for the delegation’s solidarity and prayers, noting that such gestures serve as a source of encouragement in the discharge of his duties.
