Speaking at Wednesday’s event, the Minister described the project as clear evidence of President Mahama’s commitment to transforming Ghana’s economy through the government’s flagship 24-Hour Economy policy.
The Upper East Regional Minister, Donatus Akamugri Atanga, has praised President John Dramani Mahama for delivering on his campaign promises following the sod-cutting ceremony for a new 24-Hour Market at Bazua in the Binduri District.
He said the market would not only boost local economic activity but also help fulfil the NDC’s promise of empowering women through the establishment of a Women’s Bank.
“We want to translate our campaign message of providing a Women’s Bank through the 24-Hour Market,” he said. “In that market, we will also get the opportunity to fulfil our manifesto promise by ensuring that the Women’s Bank is embedded in the construction of the 24-Hour Market.”
Mr. Atanga said President Mahama has built a reputation for honouring his promises to Ghanaians.
“President John Dramani Mahama is somebody who normally promises and delivers. He is not the person who will say he will do something and later renege after being given the mandate,” the Minister stated.
According to him, the Bazua market project is expected to create jobs, stimulate commerce and serve generations to come.
“We are here to establish a legacy for a visionary leader in this country that will transcend this generation. If this 24-Hour Market is constructed, our future generations will come and enjoy it,” he added.
The Regional Minister further praised President Mahama’s leadership style, describing him as an innovative leader known for introducing bold ideas aimed at driving national development.
