Bole-Bamboi MP and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Alhaji Yussif Sulemana, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery in the district following a working visit to the Bole District Hospital.
During the visit, the Medical Superintendent, Dr. Jonathan Abesig, conducted the MP through the various departments and units of the facility, offering firsthand insight into the working conditions of healthcare professionals and the operational challenges confronting the hospital.
A staff durbar was later held, during which management highlighted the hospital’s achievements as well as key challenges requiring urgent attention.
Hon. Sulemana commended the management and staff for their dedication and resilience despite the difficulties facing the facility. He also reiterated the John Mahama administration’s pledge to construct a new ultra-modern district hospital to enhance healthcare services for the people of Bole and its surrounding communities.
In a major intervention aimed at improving maternal healthcare, the MP officially launched a support project for needy expectant mothers, committing a seed fund of GH¢100,000. According to him, the initiative is designed to remove financial barriers that often discourage pregnant women from seeking timely medical care and attending hospital appointments.
The initiative is expected to improve maternal health outcomes and ensure that vulnerable women receive the support they need throughout pregnancy.
