MTN Ghana is set to roll out the 2026 edition of its flagship employee volunteerism initiative, 21 Days of Y’ello Care, with a nationwide drive to support healthcare delivery by equipping health centres with hospital beds and other critical resources.
The campaign, which runs from June 1 to June 21, 2026, marks the 19th edition of Y’ello Care — an initiative that has over the years empowered MTN employees to champion impactful community projects across Ghana.
This year’s campaign is themed “Expand Equitable Health for Every Community” and seeks to tackle persistent healthcare access challenges, especially in rural and underserved communities where access to quality medical care remains limited.
Over the years, Y’ello Care has become one of MTN’s most visible corporate volunteer programmes, mobilising thousands of employees to support causes in healthcare, education, youth development, and economic empowerment. In the past six years alone, MTN staff volunteers have contributed significant hours toward community-focused interventions aimed at improving lives.
For the 2026 edition, MTN employee volunteers will undertake a range of practical health-focused interventions, including the repair and donation of hospital beds, community health outreach programmes, WASH initiatives, digital health education campaigns, telemedicine-enabled services, and public health screening exercises to help address the growing incidence of non-communicable diseases.
The campaign will also leverage digital tools and data-driven solutions to improve healthcare delivery and strengthen long-term health resilience in vulnerable communities.
MTN Ghana says the interventions are designed to promote prevention, early detection, and community-based healthcare while improving access to responsive and sustainable health services.
Commenting on the initiative, MTN Ghana’s Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, Adwoa Wiafe, underscored the company’s commitment to bridging healthcare gaps across the country.
“Y’ello Care reflects our belief that meaningful progress begins with meeting communities where they are. We are focusing our efforts on expanding access to quality healthcare, particularly in communities where it remains out of reach for many,” she said.
She added: “MTN is uniquely positioned to help scale equitable healthcare access across Ghana through the power of connectivity, digital innovation, and strategic partnerships. Through Y’ello Care 2026, we are leveraging these capabilities to help communities access healthcare services that are more inclusive, responsive, and sustainable.”
According to MTN Ghana, the campaign will be implemented in partnership with government institutions, NGOs, and local stakeholders to ensure interventions are community-driven, impactful, and sustainable.
Through the annual Y’ello Care initiative, MTN says it remains committed to promoting inclusive development and strengthening the communities it serves across Ghana.
