Intercity STC Coaches Limited has dismissed reports that passengers died in a recent road accident involving one of its buses travelling from Accra to Kumasi, insisting that all passengers and crew members survived the incident.
In a public notice issued by the company’s management, STC said the accident occurred on Monday, August 3, 2026, involving one of its buses operating on the Accra–Kumasi route.
The company explained that misleading information circulated after the accident through an interview attributed to the bus driver, claiming that only 10 passengers had survived the crash.
STC described the claim as false and said it did not reflect the actual circumstances of the accident.
“We are pleased to confirm that all passengers and crew members on board survived the accident,” the statement said.
According to the company, passengers who sustained injuries received the necessary medical attention and were discharged from hospital the following day.
Intercity STC said the safety and well-being of its passengers and staff remain its highest priority and assured the public that it is working closely with the relevant authorities to establish the circumstances surrounding the accident.
The company added that it would provide verified information as investigations progress.
STC also reassured passengers, stakeholders and the general public of its commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, reliability and customer service across its operations.
The company urged the public and the media to rely on verified information regarding the accident to avoid the spread of misinformation.
