Member of Parliament for Daffiama-Bussie-Issa and Chairman of the Upper West Regional NDC MPs Caucus, Sebastian Ngmenenso Sandaare, has called for transparency and accountability in the distribution of opportunities to the party’s youth.
He said a fair and transparent system was necessary to prevent a few individuals from benefiting at the expense of the wider youth population.
Mr Sandaare made the call at the Upper West Regional TEIN retreat organised by the NDC Regional Youth Secretariat in Wa, where he stressed the need for stakeholders to work together to maximise existing government programmes and policies for the benefit of young people.
“The youth are the strength of the party,” he said, warning that disappointment and neglect could weaken their commitment.
He urged beneficiaries of opportunities to be considerate and avoid monopolising programmes meant to benefit a broader section of the youth.
Mr Sandaare also called for unity and sustained support for the NDC, while reaffirming the commitment of the party’s MPs to youth empowerment.
The retreat brought together constituency youth organisers and their deputies, TEIN executives, recognised youth groups and other party members.
The Daffiama-Bussie-Issa MP donated GH¢5,000 on behalf of the Upper West Regional MPs Caucus to support the programme.
