The Member of Parliament for the Juaben Constituency, Hon. Francis Owusu-Akyaw, has inspected the deteriorated road linking Abetinem, Nkyeripoaso, Kokodie, Ofoase, Odoyefe and other adjoining communities to Kubease.
The inspection followed concerns by residents over the poor condition of the road, which has made transportation and vehicular movement difficult, particularly during the rainy season.
Residents, including farmers, traders, schoolchildren and other road users, have reportedly faced challenges using the road, with the situation affecting access to markets, schools and other essential services.
During the visit, Hon. Owusu-Akyaw met with traditional leaders and residents of the affected communities to listen to their concerns and discuss possible measures to address the challenges associated with the road.
The MP assured the chiefs and residents that a contractor would move to the site this week to begin reshaping the road as an immediate intervention to improve accessibility and ease vehicular movement.
He said further works would be pursued to provide a more lasting solution to the poor condition of the road.
Hon. Owusu-Akyaw reiterated his commitment to improving infrastructure and connectivity within the Juaben Constituency, stressing that the development of communities remains a key priority.
He said he would continue to engage relevant stakeholders to ensure that the concerns of residents receive the necessary attention.
The planned intervention is expected to improve movement between the affected communities and Kubease and support economic activities, particularly for farmers and traders who depend on the road.
