The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially opened applications for interested party members seeking to contest its parliamentary primaries ahead of the 2028 general elections.
In a notice announcing the commencement of the Prospective Parliamentary Candidates (PPC) process, the party said applications would be open from November 1 to November 10, 2026.
The exercise invites interested prospective parliamentary candidates across the country, particularly party members in good standing, to formally declare their intention to contest the party’s parliamentary primaries.
The NPP has set the application fee at GH¢5,000, with prospective candidates expected to complete the application process within the stipulated ten-day period.
The opening of nominations marks an important step in the party’s preparations towards the 2028 general elections, as it begins the process of identifying and selecting parliamentary candidates to represent it in constituencies nationwide.
The exercise is also expected to provide an opportunity for interested party members to formally express their parliamentary ambitions and position themselves for the party’s internal electoral process.
In announcing the process, the NPP encouraged prospective candidates to begin their preparations, describing the journey to Parliament as one that begins with preparation.
The party says the initiative forms part of efforts to build a stronger team ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The application window closes on November 10, 2026.
