The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) is set to continue engagements with government and organised labour representatives on negotiations for the 2027 public sector base pay.
In a letter dated October 20, 2026, the Commission invited representatives of the government negotiating team and one representative each from organised labour to a meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 22, 2026.
The meeting is expected to take place at 2 p.m. in the conference room of the Ghana Employers’ Association, with negotiations on the 2027 base pay as the main agenda.
According to the letter signed by the FWSC’s Chief Executive, Dr George Smith-Graham, the meeting forms part of ongoing consultations towards determining the national base pay for the 2027 financial year.
The Commission said the negotiations would be conducted in accordance with its mandate and the government’s broader public sector pay policy.
It further stressed the importance of participation by the invited representatives, describing the meeting as part of a structured consultative process aimed at ensuring equity, fairness and sustainability in the public sector pay system.
The FWSC also urged participants to attend punctually to facilitate a smooth and productive session.
The negotiations are expected to bring the government and organised labour together to discuss the national base pay for public sector workers for 2027.
