Interior Minister and Member of Parliament for Asawase, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, has congratulated the newly elected constituency executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Asawase in the Ashanti Region, urging them to prioritise unity, reconciliation and the development of the party.
The new executives are led by Mohammed Mustapha Tahiru, popularly known as Chairman Ayarga, following a peaceful electoral process held on Sunday.

In a congratulatory message posted on Facebook, the Asawase MP described the election as a call to greater responsibility, selfless service and an unwavering commitment to the collective aspirations of the NDC.
He said the peaceful and democratic nature of the exercise demonstrated the party’s commitment to internal democracy, fairness and the principles upon which it was founded.
Alhaji Muntaka urged the newly elected executives to remain guided by the party’s core values, principles and ideologies as they discharge their responsibilities.
He also called on the new leadership to extend a genuine hand of friendship and reconciliation to contestants who were unsuccessful in the elections.
According to him, internal elections should not become a source of lasting division but rather an opportunity to strengthen relationships, renew the party’s collective purpose and consolidate unity among members.
“The task ahead demands a united front, stronger grassroots structures, inclusive leadership, and a shared commitment to the continued growth and progress of the NDC in Asawase,” he stated.
The Interior Minister further expressed satisfaction with the representation of women in the newly elected leadership, noting that three women were among the eight other elected executives.
He said inclusive leadership and stronger grassroots structures would be essential to advancing the party’s fortunes in the constituency.
Mr Muntaka concluded his message by congratulating the entire executive committee and invoking Allah’s guidance and blessings upon the new leadership.
He expressed hope that the executives would work collectively to strengthen the NDC in Asawase, while reaffirming his support for the party and the constituency.
He ended his message with the slogans: “Long Live NDC! Long Live Asawase Constituency! Long Live Ghana!”
