The Ministry of Health has announced the restoration of the District Health Information Management System (DHIMS), assuring the public that the platform is now fully operational following a temporary disruption.
In a statement issued on Friday, November 6, 2026, the Ministry said the system, managed by the Ghana Health Service (GHS), had been successfully restored after experiencing a temporary interruption.
DHIMS supports the collation and management of health information at the district level and plays an important role in the country’s health data management system.
The Ministry, however, clarified that the Ghana Health Information Management System (GHIMS), which hospitals use to manage patients’ records and medical information, was not affected by the disruption and remained operational throughout the period.

The clarification is expected to address concerns about the possible impact of the disruption on hospital operations and the management of patients’ medical records.
The Ministry expressed appreciation to stakeholders for their patience and understanding during the period of the disruption.
It reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening digital health systems to improve efficiency, data management and healthcare delivery across the country.
The statement was signed by Tony Goodman, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health.
