The community of Anloga is reeling from shock after three teenage girls were detained for allegedly fatally stabbing 16-year-old Dennis Owusu Ansah, a recent Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduate who was set to begin high school this week.
The tragic incident reportedly unfolded on Monday night around 7:30 p.m. Eyewitnesses say that a dispute erupted between Dennis and one of the girls while the group was accompanying a friend home.
The altercation escalated when one of the girls allegedly drew a knife and stabbed the 16-year-old in the rib, inflicting severe injuries.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was tragically pronounced dead on arrival, leaving his family and the community devastated.
His mother, Stella Frimpong, expressed her heartbreak, calling for swift justice.
“We went to Tweneboa Kodua [Senior High School] on Saturday, and we were told to report on Thursday. So, I beg, the child has indeed passed, so please authorities should ensure that justice is served,” she pleaded.
Evans Owusu Ansah, the deceased’s older brother, echoed this call, urging the government to ensure accountability.
“What we the family require is that the government assist and ensure that justice is served, because you can’t kill a boy just like that.
“For a child of 15 years, you can’t just stab someone’s child. So, the government must ensure the right thing is done. I am surprised a child of her age could do such a thing,” the deceased’s older brother stated.
