The Member of Parliament for the Asawase Constituency in the Ashanti Region has questioned what Manhal Ibrahim has achieved during his tenure to benefit the constituents of Asawase.
“The question young people in the constituency are asking Manhal is: which school have you built, what scholarships have you provided, among other things?” he said.
He further stated, “Those who claim I have served as MP for the Asawase Constituency for too long must know that I am not the longest-serving MP in Asawase. I am hitting 20 years in Parliament, but my two decades in office have been more impactful than what Kyei Mensah Bonsu has achieved for the people of Suame in his 28 years in Parliament. I am not the one saying this; it is a common saying among the people of our region who have witnessed my work.”
The Asawase MP said his sincerity as a representative continues to endear him to his constituents.
“I always tell the people what I can do for them. I don’t promise what I can’t deliver. I can say with authority that I am one of the few MPs who account to my constituents for every penny I receive as my share of the MP’s Common Fund—on radio and on Facebook—showing how each amount was spent,” he disclosed.
He further stated that his work as an MP has significantly transformed the Asawase constituency from being underdeveloped to becoming a beautiful municipality.
“When you visited my constituency, didn’t you see our roads, schools, and health facilities? Asawase is the only Zongo community without dust, thanks to the work we have done.”
Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed also sent a message to the NPP, saying, “If you want to defeat me, you must first ensure you have worked in the community more than I have. With the work I have done, the NPP can only defeat me when they do more than I have achieved.”
