Mrs. Gina Blay, who previously served as Ghana’s Ambassador to Germany, has described former President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo as one of the most hardworking presidents she has known.
She made these remarks during a one-on-one interview with Serwaa Amihere on GhOne TV monitored by Kumasimail.com
When asked about her view of the former president’s performance, Mrs. Blay did not hesitate to highlight his dedication.
“I would say President Akufo-Addo was one of the hardest working presidents that I know,” she said. “At least I knew him because he was president, and he visited Germany several times.”
She strongly denied any claims that the former president was lazy. “He wasn’t lazy at all,” Mrs. Blay stated. “I wouldn’t say that if someone says he was lazy—it’s not true. He worked hard.”
Mrs. Blay also compared former President Akufo-Addo’s commitment to that of other leaders, such as President John Dramani Mahama. She explained that both wanted what was best for Ghana. “He also, like I’ve just said about President Mahama, wanted to give the best for Ghana and for the people of Ghana,” she added.
She acknowledged that every leader faces challenges.
“Along the way, there will be shortfalls, there will be problems, there will be challenges, which many people talk about these days,” she remarked . “So in my view, and having worked closely with him as I said, he visited one of the countries in Europe that he visited most was Germany I think he(Akufo- Addo) tried his best. We should give him that.”
