The Krontihene of Akyem Asuom in the Eastern Region, Nana Boadi Amponim Obodade III, has praised President John Dramani Mahama’s first 120 days in office.
He described the NDC’s 5 months old government’s performance as “very impressive” and a sign that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is on the right path.
In an interview with the media, Nana Obodade thanked the people of Kwaebibirem for their support for local governance and expressed appreciation to President Mahama for appointing Hon. Emmanuel Kofi Nti as Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) in the Eastern Region.
He pledged full support for the new MCE and said the community would work with him to bring development to the area.
Looking back on Mahama’s early months in office, the chief said, “So far, so good. Some of us defended him even when we were criticized. Today, we can see that he is doing very well.”
He went further to compare President Mahama’s leadership to that of Ghana’s first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, saying Mahama is already miles ahead of his predecessor.
Nana Obodade also predicted long-term political dominance for the NDC, saying the party’s “Reset Ghana” agenda is more than just a short-term plan. He believes the NDC could stay in power for another 20 years to fully transform the country.
“This is about building a better Ghana – one with strong health systems, infrastructure, and institutions. By 2048, our systems will be so strong that no leader can reverse the progress,” he said.
