Parliament has confirmed the detention of the Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North Constituency, Mr. Kwame Ohene Frimpong, at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
A statement issued by the Clerk to Parliament, Mr. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, said the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament and the leadership of the House are currently engaging Ghana’s Mission in The Hague to obtain detailed information regarding the incident.
According to the statement, Parliament has officially been informed of the detention, although details surrounding the circumstances remain unclear.
“The Rt. Hon. Speaker and the Leadership of the House are in touch with Ghana’s Mission in The Hague for detailed information on the matter,” the statement noted.
Parliament assured the public that further updates would be communicated as more information becomes available.
The statement, signed by the Clerk to Parliament, urged the public to await official communication on the matter.
