The District Chief Executive for Ahafo Ano South West District, Abubakar Sedik, has led a team of officials on a two-day inspection tour of ongoing development projects as part of efforts to monitor progress and address implementation challenges.
The exercise, conducted on April 22 and 23, 2026, involved site meetings aimed at assessing the status of projects and ensuring quality delivery across the district.

The team visited multiple communities, including Asuokor Oseikrom, Adiembra, Mpasaso, Wioso, Kunsu, Afreseni, Sikafrebogya, and Mankranso, among others.
Key projects inspected included the construction of boreholes with hand pumps in several communities, classroom blocks at selected basic schools, a community centre at Mpasaso I, and institutional sanitation facilities in towns such as Wioso, Barniekrom, and Kunsu.

The team also assessed a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound and staff quarters at Afreseni, as well as a mechanised borehole at Sikafrebogya and a high-capacity water system project at Mankranso Senior High School.
Health infrastructure projects also featured prominently, including the construction of male, female, and children’s wards with an isolation unit at the Wioso Health Centre.

Speaking during the tour, Mr. Sedik expressed satisfaction with the pace of work on most project sites and commended contractors for their performance. He assured them of the Assembly’s commitment to honouring payment obligations promptly upon successful completion of projects.
He reiterated the Assembly’s determination to ensure timely completion of all projects while maintaining high standards to improve living conditions in the district.

The District Works Engineer, Beatrice Oteng, also praised the quality of work but noted minor defects on some projects. She said contractors had been directed to address the issues to ensure full compliance with specifications.
The inspection forms part of the Assembly’s broader strategy to strengthen supervision, ensure value for money, and accelerate development in the district.
