The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the welfare and operational capacity of security personnel across the country, describing their role in maintaining peace and stability as indispensable to national development.
Speaking during an engagement with security officers at the Ho Technical University Auditorium on Tuesday as part of his working visit to the Volta Region, the minister praised the dedication and sacrifices of personnel in safeguarding national security and public safety.

He said the government recognizes the critical role of the security services and remains committed to ensuring that officers are adequately motivated and equipped to perform their duties effectively.
“The welfare of our security personnel remains a top priority because a motivated and well-resourced security service is essential to national development,” Mr. Mohammed-Mubarak stated.
The minister outlined several interventions being pursued by the government to improve conditions of service for security personnel. These include the mechanization of rent allowances, improvements in office and residential accommodation, the provision of logistics and operational vehicles, promotions, and other welfare-related measures.

He also assured officers that concerns raised during the engagement would receive the necessary attention and consideration.
In a separate meeting with non-security agencies operating under the Ministry of the Interior, Mr. Mohammed-Mubarak commended staff for their contributions to public service delivery and pledged to address challenges affecting their institutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
The minister’s engagements formed part of a broader stakeholder consultation aimed at strengthening peace, promoting social cohesion, and addressing emerging security concerns across the country.
Concluding his tour of the Volta Region, Mr. Mohammed-Mubarak expressed appreciation to the Volta Regional Minister, regional security commanders, and officers for their cooperation and support throughout the visit.
He noted that such engagements are central to his strategy of fostering inclusive partnerships and nationwide collaboration to advance sustainable peacebuilding and national development since assuming office.
