The Member of Parliament for Effiduase/Asokore, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriye, has urged newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency executives in the Adansi, Amansie and Obuasi enclave to remain loyal, united and committed to the vision of the party’s 2028 flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Addressing the new executives during their official swearing-in ceremony organised by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), Dr. Afriye described the outcome of the recently concluded constituency elections as a strong indication of Dr. Bawumia’s growing influence and overwhelming grassroots support across the Ashanti Region.
He stressed that the Ashanti Region remains the NPP’s electoral heartbeat and would play a decisive role in securing victory in the 2028 general election.
According to him, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has already begun strategising to weaken the party’s traditional stronghold through what he described as calculated political manipulation and machinations.
the Effiduase Asokore MP noted that the success of Dr. Bawumia’s presidential ambition would largely depend on the commitment, discipline and hard work of the newly elected constituency executives, charging them to remain resolution, and unfazed by any oppression, especially as the party goes through it’s trying times in the hands of the ruling party.
“The responsibility of delivering victory in 2028 begins with you. Your dedication at the grassroots will determine the future of our party and our presidential candidate,” he stated.
According to Hon. Afriye, the hard work, discipline and commitment demonstrated by the newly elected executives from this point onward would ultimately determine whether Dr. Bawumia emerges victorious in 2028 or not, placing the responsibility for the party’s success squarely in their hands.
He therefore urged the executives to eschew complacency, remain firmly united, and resist any attempts by opponents to infiltrate or destabilise the party’s structures at the grassroots level.

“Victory is never handed to anyone on a silver platter. It is earned through sacrifice, loyalty and hard work,” he emphasised, reminding the executives that their election was not a reward but a call to serve both the party and the nation.
Dr. Afriye also encouraged the newly sworn-in officers to embrace every party member, irrespective of whom they supported during the internal elections, and work diligently to strengthen the NPP at the grassroots while expanding its support base ahead of the 2028 polls.
He expressed confidence that with unity, discipline and effective grassroots mobilisation, the Ashanti Region would once again deliver a commanding victory for the NPP and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the next general election.
