The Member of Parliament for the Wenchi Constituency, Alhaji Seidu Haruna, has commenced a thank you tour across various communities in the Wenchi Municipality to express his gratitude for the overwhelming support received during the 2024 general elections.

In an interview with Wenchi-based Radio West Africa, monitored by Kumasi Mail Alhaji Haruna said the tour was meant to “express our heartfelt appreciation to the good people of Wenchi for the confidence they bestowed upon me by voting in my favor during the elections.”

The first day of the tour took the MP and his entourage to communities including Branam, Subinso II, Subinso I, Abotareye, Amponsah Krom, and Awisa.

“We are deeply grateful for the warm reception and unwavering support. Your trust is the foundation upon which we will build a stronger, more inclusive Wenchi,” he stated. “We look forward to engaging with more communities in the coming days.”

Alhaji Haruna explained that the thank you tour was delayed due to the absence of a Municipal Chief Executive (MCE). Now that an MCE has been appointed, he said it was fitting to embark on the tour together.
“Now that we have an MCE, I decided to move together with her to express our heartfelt appreciation to the people of Wenchi for their unwavering support that led to my resounding victory,” he added.

During his visits, community leaders and residents appealed for improved infrastructure and services, including potable water, road rehabilitation, electricity extensions, CHPS compounds, and toilet facilities.

In response, Alhaji Haruna highlighted ongoing development initiatives in the constituency. “As part of my One Village, One Toilet initiative, there are currently ongoing toilet construction projects in Branam, Akrobi, and Buoku Nkwanta,” he disclosed.

The MP was accompanied on the tour by the Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive, Gloria Opoku Gyamfi; Municipal Coordinating Director, Gyimah Yakubu; Wenchi NDC Constituency Chairman, Asomah Mohamed, popularly known as Chairman Della; and other party executives and stakeholders.
The thank you tour is expected to continue in the coming days with more engagements across the constituency.
