Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has called on Ghanaians to dismiss circulating rumors about the health of Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.
Addressing a gathering in Lagos, Nigeria, Ablakwa assured the public that the Vice President is in good health and will soon return to her duties.
“I want to assure you that she is doing very well,” Ablakwa stated.
“Your prayers from all over Ghanaians at home and abroad has really worked. I have heard from her, so I know what I’m talking about.”
Ablakwa’s remarks comes at a time when speculation about the Vice President’s health had sparked widespread concern among Ghanaians.
He appealed to the public to ignore what he described as “evil and unGhanaian propaganda” that has been circulating on social media and other platforms.
“Please ignore all that evil unGhanaian propaganda that some people are circulating our mother is doing very very well.”
The Minister also highlighted the Vice President’s role as a beacon of inspiration for young girls across the country.
“She’s going to return to her duties serving Ghana and making all of you proud and particularly inspiring our young girls our daughters to know that there is nothing that woman cannot achieve that women are as good as men and that what men can do women can also do and doing”.

Ghana’s Vice President, Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, was admitted to the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) on Saturday after experiencing a sudden illness following her official duties on Friday, March 28, 2025.
