The Asanteman Youth Association (AYA) has expressed profound sorrow over the death of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, describing her as a “pillar of wisdom, dignity, and unity” for the Ashanti Kingdom.
In a statement signed by AYA General Secretary Tweneboa Kodua, the youth group extended its deepest condolences to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Oyoko Clan, and the people of Asanteman during what it called a “time of great sorrow.”
“Her Royal Majesty was more than a mother to the Asante Kingdom she was a pillar of wisdom, dignity, and unity whose life embodied the timeless values of our heritage,” the statement read. “Her leadership and nurturing spirit will remain a guiding light for generations to come.”
The association reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Asantehene, pledging that the youth of Asanteman will continue to uphold the values, unity, and cultural pride that Nana Konadu Yiadom III championed.
“In this moment of grief, AYA stands firmly behind His Royal Majesty Otumfuo and assures him of our unwavering support,” the statement added.
AYA concluded with prayers for the late queen mother’s peaceful rest and for strength for the Oyoko Clan and the entire Asante nation in this period of mourning.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who served as Asantehemaa since 2017, was highly respected for her role in preserving Ashanti traditions and serving as a key advisor to the Asantehene.
