Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has condemned the unfortunate scenes that occurred after their Ghana Premier League clash with Asante Kotoko SC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, describing the incident as regrettable and inconsistent with the club’s values.
In a statement issued and signed by the club’s management, Hearts of Oak expressed deep regret over the post-match disturbances and apologized to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), match officials, supporters, and the general public.
“These moments do not reflect the values we uphold as a club — values rooted in discipline, respect, and the spirit of fair play,” the statement read.
The club also acknowledged the unwavering support of its fans, thanking them for their loyalty throughout the 2025/2026 Premier League season and their strong turnout at the highly anticipated fixture against Kotoko.
Hearts of Oak said it has initiated internal disciplinary processes concerning the player involved in the incident.
The move, according to the club, is aimed at ensuring accountability and maintaining the highest standards of conduct within the team.
“These steps are being taken to ensure accountability, uphold our standards, and prevent future occurrences,” management stated.
The club emphasized that while football is a game of passion, it must always be governed by respect and professionalism.
“We remain committed to upholding the dignity of our badge and the trust of our supporters,” the club added, assuring fans that measures are being implemented to restore confidence and integrity in the team’s operations.
Hearts of Oak concluded by thanking their supporters for their continuous backing, pledging to do better in maintaining discipline and respect in future matches.
