The Ejisu Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ampofo Agyapong, has declared overwhelming support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, stating that the constituency remains “99.9%” behind the former Vice President in the upcoming presidential primaries.
Speaking on Thursday during a visit by the former Second Lady, Hajia Samira Bawumia, as part of her campaign tour of the Ashanti Region, the chairman emphasized that their loyalty to Dr. Bawumia is rooted in the legacy of the late MP, John Kumah.
According to him, the constituency will never depart from the wishes of John Kumah, whom he described as a key pillar of the DMB agenda.
Mr. Agyapong expressed disappointment that the current MP, Kwabena Boateng, has taken a different path, noting that “the MP stands alone in his misery,” while the constituency remains united behind Dr. Bawumia.
“As for us in Ejisu, we are 99.9 percent behind Dr. Bawumia and have never regretted doing so because of our late MP, John Kumah, who worked hard to develop this constituency. The 0.1% is the MP,” he stated.
Hajia Samira Bawumia is touring the region with the Ashanti Regional Liaison Officer of the DMB Campaign Team, Hon. Nana Ayew Afriye, alongside regional executives, former MPs, and other prominent party figures.
