The Member of Parliament for the Suame Constituency Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu who double as Chairman of ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) manifesto committee has disclosed the he didn’t support the election of Lawyer John Darko as parliamentary candidate for the Suame Constituency as a choice to replace him in parliament after retirement from Parliament.
Speaking on Abusua FM with Kojo Marfo, the minister of parliamentary affairs said” when I decided to retire from parliament, I told the Suame Constituency executives to get me a perfect replacement. They all came and told me they want the Suame MCE Maxwell Ofosu Boakye who was my personal assistant. So I supported him. Unfortunately he lost’’ he disclosed.
He explained after the parliamentary elections that saw the elections of Lawyer John Darko as the Parliamentary candidate for the party, a lot of issues had risen in the constituency creating a lot of division there.
He assured “ I’m aware of the development in the constituency we can’t approach the election with a divided front so I will intervene for us to resolve every issue in the constituency’’.
He reiterated that it will be very difficult for the NPP to maximize it votes in the constituency if things remain the same there. “the Suame Parliamentry primary is over, we all have to rally behind the elected parliamentry candidate Who is Lawyer John Darko . we must all bury our deference and approach the election with united front” .
