The National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare Addo, has described the 2024 election as the party’s “revolution without a gun,” where the ballot is the weapon that will be fiercely protected.
Speaking at the launch of the NDC Youth Manifesto in Accra on Monday, August 12, 2024, Opare Addo emphasized that the youth of the NDC will not remain passive but will vote in large numbers and ensure the protection of the ballot.
“The NDC is a peace-loving political party, but we will not be victims of peace,” he declared.
“This election is our revolution without a gun; it’s a revolution of mind and will. It’s a revolution where the gun will be the ballot, and we will go out there and vote massively. We will make sure that the ballot box is protected. As we always say, the NDC is law-abiding. We will do everything to protect our democracy because we are the midwives of Ghana’s democracy, but we shall not become victims of peace.
“If anyone desires peace, let us all sit and negotiate peace. If you draw your dagger, we will draw our dagger. We will do everything legal and law-abiding. As citizens, we shall not foment trouble anywhere, but the events of the 2020 Techiman South elections will not be repeated. We shall take power, come what may, through every legal means by December 7.”
