The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has approved a major reshuffle of senior officers within the Ghana Police Service, with immediate effect.
The changes, outlined in an official police signal dated February 2, 2026, affect several Director-General and Regional Commander positions at the national headquarters and across the regions.
As part of the reshuffle, COP Dr. Sayibu Pabi Gariba has been reassigned from Director-General in charge of Technology to Director-General of the National Police Directorate (NAPD).
COP Mr. Iddi Lansah Seidu moves from Director-General of Welfare to Director-General of Technology, while COP Dr. Vance Baba Gariba has been transferred from Director-General of Operations to Director-General in charge of Research and Planning.
Additionally, COP Mr. Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe has been appointed Director-General of Operations, replacing DCOP Mr. Darko Offei Lomotey, who now takes charge of the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB). DCOP Mr. Eric Ken Winful has been moved from the NAPD to assume responsibility as Director-General of Welfare.
At the regional level, DCOP Mr. Charles K. Adu has been transferred from Regional Commander of the Central Region to Regional Commander of the Eastern South Region, while DCOP Mr. Isaac Asante moves from the Eastern North Region to the National Headquarters.
DCOP Mr. George B. Ohene Boadi has been reassigned from the Eastern South Region to the Central Region, and DCOP Mr. George Ankomah has been transferred from the Central Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) to serve as Regional Commander of the Eastern North Region.
The reshuffle also affects the MTTD command structure, with DCOP Mr. Alex Kodjo Wowolo moving from Director of ICT at the Police Headquarters to take charge of the Central MTTD.
The police administration says the changes are intended to strengthen operational efficiency and enhance service delivery across the Ghana Police Service.
Copies of the directive have been circulated to all Police Management Board (POMAB) members and all regional, divisional, district and unit commanders nationwide.
