Ghana has received commendation from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for its progress in developing a comprehensive migration policy and strengthening migration management systems.
The praise was delivered during a courtesy visit to the Interior Ministry in Accra, where the IOM delegation met with Interior Minister Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak.

Speaking during the meeting, the IOM Head of Mission in Ghana, Fatou Ndiaye, highlighted Ghana’s leadership in migration governance, describing the country as a model for others in the region.
She stressed the importance of sustained collaboration in addressing migration-related challenges and acknowledged the Ministry’s consistent support and partnership with the organization.

According to Ndiaye, Ghana’s approach demonstrates a strong commitment to creating structured and effective migration systems, which are critical in managing both internal and cross-border movements.
In response, Mubarak expressed appreciation to the IOM for its continued cooperation with Ghana.
He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to deepening the partnership to ensure migration management remains effective, coordinated, and sustainable.
The meeting underscored the ongoing collaboration between Ghana and the IOM in addressing migration issues, with both sides pledging to strengthen ties in pursuit of shared goals.
