The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is making steady progress on a major network reinforcement project aimed at improving power supply reliability and voltage quality for customers in Greater Kumasi and surrounding communities.
The ongoing works, being undertaken on the Kaase 1 & 2 transmission corridor at Infant Jesus, form part of ECG’s broader strategy to strengthen the sub-transmission network and address technical constraints affecting electricity distribution in the Ashanti Region.
According to ECG, the project is designed to improve the efficiency and resilience of the power network by enhancing voltage stability and increasing the capacity of the transmission infrastructure serving the Greater Kumasi area.
The upgrade is expected to significantly reduce network bottlenecks and improve the quality of electricity supply to residential, commercial and industrial consumers.

ECG indicated that upon completion, the project will provide a more stable and reliable power supply, helping to support economic activities and improve service delivery across the region.
The reinforcement of the Kaase 1 & 2 transmission corridor is part of ongoing investments by the power distributor to modernise critical infrastructure and meet the growing electricity demand in Kumasi and its surrounding communities.
The company expressed confidence that the project will contribute to a more resilient electricity network capable of supporting households, businesses and industries while minimizing service interruptions.
Residents and businesses in the Ashanti Region are expected to benefit from improved voltage quality and enhanced power reliability once the project is completed.
