Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant Kennedy Agyapong has issued a strong warning to members of his party, signaling what he described as a looming “action” in mid-2027 amid growing internal tensions.
Speaking on Net2 Television’s morning programme “Se No Pein,” Agyapong voiced frustration over what he characterized as sustained disrespect from some party figures. His remarks followed reactions to his recent criticism of both the NPP and the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) over delays in the Afari Military Hospital project in the Ashanti Region.
According to him, the level of disregard he has experienced within the party is no longer tolerable.
“The disrespect is too much. I cannot endure it anymore,” he stated.
Agyapong specifically called out Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, popularly known as KOKA, over alleged disparaging comments about his health.
“Somebody like KOKA says I have undergone brain surgery. He doesn’t know what will happen to him,” Agyapong warned.
In a strongly worded message directed at the NPP, he hinted at a major political response in June or July 2027.
“NPP, are you ready? June, July 2027 me and them, action in this country. They will be surprised. They think I am stupid?” he said.
He further questioned the rationale behind re-engaging with individuals he believes have consistently undermined him.
“Am I stupid to come and follow you again, so you can list ‘ten sins of Kennedy Agyapong’? You wait and see what will happen. I don’t fear them,” he declared.
Agyapong suggested that his current silence has been strategic rather than passive, referencing a popular song to emphasize his point.
“I have been quiet, and it is deliberate. They should listen to Kenny Rogers’ ‘The Gambler’ and understand why I am silent,” he noted.
The former Assin Central MP also asserted his readiness to respond decisively when necessary.
“I know where to run, and I know where to hit. They don’t know what is coming. Do they think I am afraid? No way,” he said.
He did not spare NPP Bono Regional Chairman Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, issuing a direct warning.
“If Abronye misbehaves, I will face him. Someone I have helped in this country, there are more consequences waiting for him. I will deal with him at my own time,” Agyapong cautioned.
